Lucy and I have been anxiously awaiting a day when the weather would cooperate with our schedules, and we could have a play date with her brother Tank, and also check out Lucy's Aunt Chloe's first litter of puppies. It seemed like every single time we would make plans with Grandma & Grandpa Lutz, it would rain... That's all it ever does here is rain!
Yesterday was the day! I don't know who was more excited about this trip, Lucy or me! I've been dying to see Lucy's brother, and I was extremely anxious to see the puppies. Of course, Lucy had no idea what was going on... But she was eager to get in the car and go somewhere after spending an entire day at home!
She knew where we were as soon as we pulled in the driveway! I'm sure it had a lot to do with the sound of 5 barking boxers. It certainly wasn't quiet when we got out of the car. Lucy's Canine Momma & Daddy were looking out the window eagerly at us!
Tank & Lucy wasted no time getting down to business! Funny how they never forget each other. Lucy was just thrilled to be in the company of another boxer- even if he was much bigger than she is!
This is Lucy's brother, Tank!
Isn't he a handsome boy? I can't get over how much bigger he is than Lucy, but that would be the boy/girl thing! When I would visit the litter in the days prior to Lucy coming home, Tank was one of my favorites! He was extremely cuddly, but boy was he a biter! I nicknamed him "Shark" because he was so good at clamping down on my hands and fingers!
I was thrilled when I found out that the breeder had decided to keep Lucy's little twin! Honestly, I had a feeling that little boy would be staying right where he was, Grandma Sherry was so in love with little Tank. Who can blame her?
"Hey, Lucy- over heres. Dis is where da water is. I'll share wits ya! Ya just sticks yer whole darn head in der. It's nice n cold! And isn't its a great bucket?"
After much romping in the yard, both pups were hot and thirsty. Tank was a gracious host, and he showed Lucy right where the water bucket was.
Of course, Lucy had other plans for that bucket of water. First one delicate little paw tested the water, then one whole leg, and then much to my embarassment, Lucy stuck her whole front end right in that bucket. I wasn't even surprised! She's definitely not shy!
"Hey, Lucy! I don'ts tink dats what you're supposed to do!"
And finally, the moment came when Chloe's litter was brought out and shown off. I instantly fell in love with the little pups. There are 7 of them, 6 fawns and one little white pup. (boy she must feel like the odd one in the bunch?) They are so beautiful... each and every one of them very unique in their coloring, and facial features! But, they all had puppy breath, and those sweet little wiggle butts!
Those little bodies all made Lucy look so big! I remembered back to the first day that I met Lucy, she was exactly the same age as these pups are, 4 weeks! Grandma Sherri found one that looked just like Lucy did when she was a baby (except Lucy had more pink spots on her nose)! Amazing how much our little boxer has grown in such a short period of time.
I wasn't sure how Lucy would do with the puppies, she can be such a bully! Boy did she surprise her human last night. She was so sweet, and attentive to the little rascals. I had a lot of fun watching her!
"Hey, pup! Get back heres. I don'ts know wheres you're goin!"

The white one was adorable- but is already spoken for. I think our 2nd boxer baby will probably be a white one... There were a bunch of those in Lucy's litter- Lucy's Daddy is white with a spot over one eye. I fell in love with all of them, it was hard not to think about adding another one to our family!
