First Edition: Thank You Very Much!

Welcome to my very first addition of "Thank You Very Much". I found this at "I'm Just Sayin" and thought it would be great fun! (You all know how much I love to rant, just every once and a while!)

THANK YOU VERY MUCH to the pain in my neck and shoulder that has given me a headache that makes me feel like I'm dying for the last 7 days. And the nausea that's accompanying it just makes my day so much brighter! THANK YOU VERY MUCH for making it impossible to sleep for the last 6 months. No wonder I want to kill someone!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH Maxwell House for making lids for your coffee cans that come completely loose with just the slightest touch. I have enjoyed cleaning whole cans of coffee grounds off the floor for the last 3 days when your lid came loose while I was trying to make a very much needed pot of coffee- 3 times. And while I'm on the subject of loose lids, I love the new, cheaper lids Nestle is putting on their water bottles. I love that every time I add a packet of Crystal Light to a water bottle, I have a huge mess of what's usually red water to clean up. Those lids are fabulous!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH to the heating and air conditioning guy who parked in my parking space (right next to the door) and then watched as I tried to haul my 25 pound computer bag, my briefcase, a box of envelopes, a boxer baby, and my purse the whole way around the side of the building in the rain and never offered to even help me! And that ladder that was blocking my door- that was wonderful too. It wasn't too difficult to try to hold on to Lucy, keep all of the bags from falling all of the place and get around that ladder.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all the people in the last week that have had so little disregard for my very valuable time. I appreciated being made to sit and wait while they carried on conversations of a gossipy nature with other people. I most certainly had planned on dedicating 3 hours to a 1 hour task on my only day off because you couldn't shut up! And I love standing around waiting on you, while you have a long, very personal and insane conversation about your teeth in the middle of my store. I love it even more when you immediately demand my attention the very second that call is over!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all those people out there whose job title is "Customer Service" but, they don't answer their phones and they can't return a phone call. I have really appreciated having to call back and leave 6 messages to get an answer to my question.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH to the clerk in Wal-Mart who apparently has never carried groceries from the car to the house. Putting 9 cans of green beans and a 5 lb. jar of mayo in one of those super durable plastic bags, was a great idea, and chasing those 9 cans of green beans and mayo across my driveway in the pouring down rain was more fun than a barrel full of monkeys.

  1. This is my kind of blog post. I'm quite a ranter myself.. :)

Ditto on the Customer Service one, especially!

  2. Don't you just love getting all of that off your chest? I love TYVM Thursdays!

I am totally with you on the lid thing. I finally got tired of cleaning up coffee grounds and out them in a plastic container with a screw on lid. :)

  3. Hi Marianne, I sure am sorry that you feel so bad. Have you received medical or an acupuncturist help? You are too young to have such a negative attitude. Did you let any of those people know that you needed help? Did you call any of the companies to let them know that their products have problems? They may even give you coupons or free items for your call. Did you let the clerk at Walmart know that the bag was too heavy when she was packing it? Did you ask for the items to be spread out to more bags? So of these people might have had worries on their minds, some just did not notice, and yes some are rude. But you could try to kill them with kindness. Smile, let people know what you need, nicely. Really. I know life is rough, but I would give almost anything to be 35 again. I'm in a wheelchair now and in constant pain. BUT I am Thankful for my life, for my companion Tessa. The one thing that causes NO pain for me, to smile!

Hang in there and SMILE, Blu, Tessa's Mom

  4. Too Funny! Glad you survived all that! That was much cheaper than therapy ;-) That first issue though, the pain in your shoulders and neck, needs to be looked into. I know about that!

  6. I love this! Might have to steal this from you.

I'm sorry to hear about your neck and shoulder pain. I have pains in my hip sometimes but at least the pain doesn't make me nauseated. I hope you get that checked soon if you haven't already.

My TYVM would be in regards to business etiquette. It doesn't seem to exist these days. I never had a job where it was ok to ignore phone calls or emails. I've been job searching for the last 9 months and often call (or email if I don't have a # for them) to follow up if I haven't heard anything. 99 times out of 100, I have to leave a voice mail. And 99 times out 100, that call is ignored and never returned. Even if I call back a day or two later and leave another voice mail, it's ignored. Same thing with emails. It makes me lose respect for that company. Like they couldn't find 2 minutes out of their busy day to return my call and tell me they've already hired someone or are interviewing more qualified applicants or whatever? Really???

  7. Good stuff! I really enjoyed this, I may have to jump on board next Thursday! Well, next time you might try kicking your green beans across the yard instead of picking them up. The brief moment of satisfaction if you do it just right and don't break your toes can be really worth it!

  8. I love, love, LOVE the name of your blog! I love meeting people whose animals play as big a role in their lives as my furbabies do in mine. :)

Great post - such a clever idea!

Poorly packed grocery bags are one of my biggest pet peeves!

  9. Thank you very much for venting. I feel better for you! lol It is so good to get everything off our chest. Hope you feel better. Know all about neck and shoulder pain. Once it took 4 different people at Walmart to get me to Garden Dept, which included me having to call back because they hung up on me. Grrrrr.

How can people work at a pet store and not love pets? They shouldn't be able to quailfy. And it burns me that they know nothing about their products. Double Grrrrr.

Hope you are feeling better and I love Lucy's new pool!!

It's nice to know I'm not the only one out there that thinks this way!
